What is a "White" Lab?

A "white" labrador retriever is actually registered as a "yellow" lab. The AKC considers it to be one of the shades of yellow. Other shades of yellow include "Fox Reds", traditional "Ol' Yeller" color, and the lighter yellow or "Marley" color.  "White" Labs (such as the Contelle puppy) are the rarest, and are anywhere from a very light cream color to a bright snow white. Their coat also may change very slightly during different times of the year or their age.  Occasionally, they will have a hint of a champagne color on the outside edges of their ears, tip of tail, hind legs, or around the very tip of their nose.  Each marking is unique to each dog making your dog even more a one-of-a-kind lab.
